Heritage Experience
Udaipur
A slow ride through Udaipur's palaces, garden courtyards and hilltop views, shaped around the people in the jeep.

The Story Behind the Trail
This isn't sightseeing. It's storytelling.
The rich heritage of Mewar doesn't arrive in hours. It arrives in quiet moments, each one carrying a few centuries behind it. This journey through Udaipur moves at the pace of discovery, where an old courtyard or a hilltop view opens up another chapter of royal history. ...Read More
Riding in our restored Willys, you cross quiet ground where still lakes hold the reflection of grand palaces and the Aravalli hills frame the evening. This is slow travel, built around you rather than around a timetable.
We leave the rigid schedules and the crowded routes behind. From the architecture of the old town to a peaceful tea up in the hills, the day unfolds on its own. No rush, no agenda. Just you, the open air and the stories Udaipur has been holding on to.
Chapter I
City Palace Trail Start
We begin where the Mewar dynasty wrote its grandest chapter. The City Palace complex opens in front of you as a maze of royal courtyards, carved balconies and rooms that have kept hold of centuries....Read More
Your Trail Captain talks about the warriors and the queens who lived here rather than reading off a script. You stand on balconies that frame Lake Pichola in perfect symmetry, and follow Rajput architecture through its mosaics and its archways.
Photographs happen on their own here, with light coming through the old jaali screens and water shimmering somewhere behind. This is where history stops being a textbook.
Duration: ~1 hour

Chapter II
Saheliyon Ki Bari
The Garden of the Maidens was built for the royal women, and its fountains still run on engineering that predates electricity. Lotus pools hold the marble pavilions, and the ornate kiosks frame views made for sitting still....Read More
Time slows further here. You walk under trees that have watched generations pass, listen to water moving through the old channels, and catch the light coming down through the leaves onto carved stone.
This is not a rushed tourist stop. It is a deliberate breath in a journey measured in depth rather than distance.
Duration: ~1 hour

Chapter III
Scenic Drive through Aravalli Hills
The vintage Willys stops being transport somewhere along this stretch. As the city drops away its edges soften into hillsides, and hidden lakes appear and disappear behind the curves of the road....Read More
The Aravalli range opens around you in layers of green and gold. Winding roads keep handing you views where old geology does all the work, and the drive itself becomes the point.
The open air carries the smell of the earth and the engine settles into a hum you stop noticing. The view changes at every turn, and you can stop wherever it asks you to.
Duration: ~1 hour

Chapter IV
Sajjangarh and High Tea
The Monsoon Palace sits on the highest peak, a marble lookout over all of Udaipur. From up here the whole day spreads out below you, with the City Palace catching light by the lake and the roads threading back through the hills....Read More
The views run to the horizon where the earth meets the sky in soft gradations, and the lakes hold the last of the afternoon light.
This is where we stop for high tea. Fresh snacks, something warm, and the kind of stillness you only get at this height. It is less a refreshment than a ritual, and the right way to close a journey measured in moments rather than miles.
Duration: ~1.5 hours

Leaving the palace behind, the journey opens up
As the heritage jeep rolls out from the City Palace, the pace of the city dissolves. The narrow lanes widen, the traffic fades, and the quieter side of Udaipur starts to show itself. This part of the journey isn't about ticking off monuments. It is about the spaces in between them.
A MOMENT TO PAUSE
A hilltop pause above the city
Midway through the safari the jeep climbs toward the Aravalli hills, where Udaipur's lakes, palaces and rooftops open out beneath you, calm and wide.
Guests stretch, take photos and sit with it for a while. Conversations soften, cameras come out, and the journey loosens before we head to Sajjangarh for high tea.

The Jeep
Half the journey is the jeep
Ours is a hand-restored Willys that still works for a living. It has been carrying travellers through the old city and up to Sajjangarh for years, it gets a look on every street it turns into, and most guests go home with as many photos of it as of the palaces.
There are no doors and no windows, so you get the air, the light and the sound of wherever you are. It takes the road slowly, because that is how you actually see a city. Your Trail Captain handles every bend. You just look.
